Kōlōa Mōha: Birds in Flight

Kōlōa mōha is the Hawaiian word for the northern shoveler, a duck that migrates to Hawaii for the winter. They usually arrive in September and October and leave for Alaska in March or April. This mala celebrates birds with small rustic patina birds as marker beads, a blue bird pendant and natural “pink” (very light tint of pink) aventurine gemstones accented by turquoise rondelle beads.
