Fear No More: Baraka Mala

This mala is made with blue jasper beads and a rose quartz camel for the guru bead. Inspired by the graceful, contemplative camels at Fear No More Zoo in Northern California, specifically for a camel named Baraka.
Baraka knows more than any camel should know about humans and demonstrates serious class and emotional intelligence. Baraka is son of Barak O’Mama, who died giving birth, and the great Everest. Baraka was bottle raised and lived with humans for the first year of his life, and when it came time to integrate him into the larger camel herd it was a delicate matter that took several years. Eventually his integration process smoothed out, it was interesting to watch how the camels responded to him and taught him the ways of being a true camel.
Now he is well adapted and is especially close friends with Jellybean who showed him an embrace of acceptance from the beginning of his journey adapting to the herd. For a period of time Baraka became very serious and formal about his contact with humans, and we respected his process and boundaries. Now he is coming around and asking for pettings and things he used to enjoy when he was younger, but in a very balanced way. He can also be found having great command with members of the herd when he chooses to use it.
Blue Jasper is a type of chalcedony, a mineral that’s part of the quartz family. It’s formed from ancient sedimentary deposits that have been compressed over millions of years, giving it a unique combination of strength and beauty. Blue jasper supports creativity and self-expression, inspiring the imagination and stimulating communication skills. It’s the perfect stone for artists, writers, and anyone looking to unleash their inner creativity.
